Aberdeen Proving Ground 100th anniversary movie

Post by YLG80 » Tue Aug 21, 2018 12:30 am

I hope it will not be a double topic in the forum.
This is a nice film made for the APG 100th anniversary (2017).

No, that car used to be in APG during about 10 years, but was sold to a Canadian business man and after donated to a museum in Quebec as a compensation for unpaid taxes :D .
That car was recently for sale in a public sale but the minimum bid was not reached, hem it was supposed to be more than 7.000.000 USD ...

Funny to know that this car was using 60 liters per hundred km.
That means:
3.9 MPG (US)
4.7 MPG Imperial
1.6 km per liter
Crazy for a country that had to produce synthetic gas from coal :)!
I'm so happy with my "Convertible Jeep" gas consumption :)!

This is really cool and makes me proud to be an Aberdeen, MD resident. Hoping in time to get a job at APG, too

Sadly the Ordnance museum is no longer on APG. It was moved to Ft Lee a couple of years ago.

My wife is from Vienna Va and she remembers the family would go up and see demonstrations at the grounds like a family day out. We just converted some home movies and put them on DVD and some from Aberdeen are on it.
