4220 #2 is interesting. I would like to see cost breakdown of the kit.

Video game excerpt, not a real cost breakout.

That is weight of the gear 102 lbs less rations. I am curious what those items would cost. Probably don't really want to know but I am a taxpayer.

Off topic, even if it is a weight chart it's wrong, you are either a rifleman or support a crew served weapon, you would not typically be issued both a pistol and a rifle, a member of a crew served weapon would have a pistol and support the crew served weapon, carry components like mortar barrel, rounds, TOW missile,Day Sight, Tripod, Missile Guidance set, bipod, more rounds, etc. etc.
A Rifleman...just a Rifle and ammunition, maybe some extra MG ammo or Mortar rounds if they have an associated weapons section go with them.

An Officer is issued a pistol, (Hell I even had to account for 10 bullets for the darn 9mm in Afghanistan... as I was attached to a Logistics outfit  so much for all that infantry leadership training ) but can be issued both should they choose to draw a rifle out, but they are supposed to lead, not be engaged in firing until the push is needed or as a last resort. Focus on leading the attack or defense, (or stinking admin duties) not being distracted by targets. Real World doesn't always play that way and officers DO become part of the battle, (even Generals on occasion) but were not supposed to, just like were not supposed to drive vehicles...
The gear listed has several redundancies, and would likely get shed after the first trip out on patrol, especially by foot without a vehicle to pick you up from wherever you went. The Airborne list would make that guys legs weak, all that stuff plus rations, parachute(s), weapons bag, lowering lines, etc. Lots of stuff left on the drop zone once daylight hits.
Still looks like a Video Game gear selection roster from my Sons X-Box to me.
