I empathised with your comment by the way.
I also empathised with children in Britain,
when occupation by nazi troops
was on the cards.

In school during WWII we were shown aircraft identification cards so we could report enemy aircraft.
Occasionally there would be blackout practices, and block wardens with arm bands and WWI style helmets would walk the block and check for light showing through house windows.
