SAS Jeeps

Post by ironage » Thu Sep 10, 2009 7:32 am

I found it interesting to see how many mods i could find in this set of photos, especially like the new tool box location, what a find it would be to discover one of these!

What's the purpose behind cutting the grill out? Does it just identify these, even more so, as SAS jeeps? And it's on all of them, not just the desert ones...

I liked the SAS guys dressed in "Lawrence of Algeria" desert gear....reading up on them in several books....they were a VERY effective force, did a lot of damage and tied down a lot of the German forces in Africa worryting about them behind the lines and such.....

In the third picture the GPW style tool box lid is fitted to the side corner. I guess they wanted a side access to the tool box since maybe the top side was covered by something? :? Wonder how it latched? :?
