M38 Electrical Problem
Could someone please let me know how to solve my problem with my M38 Jeep. I have sparks at the point but none at the plugs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: M38 Electrical Problem
Need more specific information Rifleman.
Details matter (helps cut down playing the 64 questions game).
Same as if you were standing next to it talking to a hired mechanic.
When it ran last, was it running good?
What were you doing just before the problem surfaced?
Do you have a stock M38 with 24 volt system and original waterproof distributor, plug wires and spark plugs?
The engine troubleshooting guide begins at Paragraph 78 on page 73 in the Army TM9-8012.
Suggest you follow Paragraph 78.c. on page 75 (titled Engine Misfires But Will Not Start) and tell us what you find.
You'll get much more better focused opinions of the problem.
Do you have a copy of the Army manual?
Troubleshooting things sight unseen over the internet can be difficult at best.
We best assume nothing, and only know what you tell us. More is usually better.
Good luck!

Re: M38 Electrical Problem
My M38 engine has recently been professionally rebuilt and was starting with ease. I started it lately and it was back firing in the exhaust. Since then it will not start and there is no spark at the plugs. I replaced every part in the distributor with new parts to no avail. I live in Canada making it difficult to find someone with the knowledge to help/ I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks
