Starter assembly issues
Room apart the starter and solenoid to clean everything. Lots of oil sewage in connections. Any tricks to getting the spring loaded brushes back in place on the end of the starter? I’m have a hard time fitting my fingers in place to Hold all four.

Re: Starter assembly issues
Cannot speak to your exact starter. But what I have done on starters and generators, is while the brushplate is off, push the brushes up in their holders until the coil brush spring slips off the top of the brush and presses on the side of the brushes. The spring holds them in this cocked position with the brushes retracted. After everything is together, I reach in with a small screwdriver and straighten the brushes out and push them towards the commutator until the spring pops back on the top of the brush.
