What brand and weight of differential oil are you using in the M38? I know what the manual states, Thanks, John

80W90. GL5 from Walmart. Cheapest brand.
Now, do NOT use this in your transmission or transfer case; you must use GL4 or below due to yellow metals, and migration.
Note; they just got re-stocked with Rotella 15W40 diesel oil for your engine. That is all I use.

If your seals leak a little bit due to wear use 90-140 weight oil in the differentials to fix the problem. They will get the lube they need and the oil seepage will stop.
