Jeep M38 with a M151 motor

Someone tried to put an m151 motor in an M38. I need advice.

I think there is way too much involved here to restore this back to original. I would not go any further for financial reasons and time constraints. Not sure what you wanted to hear but this engine thing is a game-changer. A few thousand plus just to get that in order. My opinion. John

I'm thinking, if I could trade this motor for the right one, I would have a good project. I'll need a new bell housing.

Frankly I'd like to see some better photos of how this was accomplished. Shot looks like a starter on drivers side, which means the clutch mechanism for the M38 was removed as well?
Really an odd combination to work through.

Someone tried? Was it successful? I, too, would like to see lots of pictures of it.
If you want to trade a 151 motor for a running correct M38 motor, I would not bet on that ever happening.

there was one done successfully in California....haven't seen it in 10 years though
