Engine ID numbers
I apologize if this has already been discussed. I am trying to confirm the location of the MC#### for my engine on my M38. I have seen some references online however I have scoured my engine and cannot find the numbers. I also noticed that this engine has been painted blue at some point. Wondering if it’s been rebuilt or replaced at some time.

Re: Engine ID numbers
On the block, in front of the head, above the water pump, maybe.

Yeah I checked that spot, nothing. Only thing I could find was the firing order on the top of the rear portion of the head.

Well I found it, took a soft wire brush to the top of the block above the water pump. Came back as MC94288. DOD on the plate is 5/52, hood number 20944038
