Flexible Fuel Line Length To Pump WO-800595

Post by DieFledermaus » Wed Jan 12, 2022 11:06 am

Hi Gee,

I seem to have purchased new flexible fuel lines that are too short. The ones I received are very nicely made but are 6 3/8" long and need to be more like 8". The manual does not list the length, G740-7375038. I got them to work by rebuilding the top of the fuel pump counter-clockwise (one full movement) but it really isn't correct. I'll change them out when needed. Anybody know? Are they 7 3/8"?
Thanks,
Mike

I'm having to find some for my M 38both leaked air and has been driving me crazy. My old rig has been sitting for about 15 years. They looked nice but. It is kind of different working on the military set up.every thing is just a little different.

I am a bit confused, you talk as though there are multiple flexible fuel lines on the M38, but the only one is from the steel line on the frame to the pump. The one on my M38 is just a little over 7" long.

Sorry for the confusion. I wrote the request badly. I have two M38s and each one has one fliexible fuel line to the inlet side of the fuel pump. 7 3/8ths inches is the correct length I was told. Thank you for your replies. -Mike

Thanks, just thought I missed something. My M38 has been changed because the shutoff valve was leaking. I used a long flexible hose to replace the valve and T, but kept the old line and valve and planned to put it back someday if I ever found the correct valve. "Someday" have not arrived yet!

Those are actually rare because they were only used on the M38. The A1 used a different shut off valve.

That's what I thought. This one leaks gas badly and the gland nut is damaged. I'd like to put this same style back on it some day.
