A word of caution for those using compression testers - CHECK THE DEPTH! The head of my tester was too long and caused a bent valve on my newly rebuilt engine when the valve ran into the tester head. Another $300 in labor and $50 in parts and it will be fixed. It is said "A smart person learns from their mistakes. A wise person learns from the mistakes of others." So compare the length of the head going into the spark plug hole with the head of the spark plug and ensure the former is not longer than the latter.
'Nuff said, hope this helps someone.
