Distributor problem

Post by Scott in NM » Thu Mar 11, 2021 3:43 pm

My distributor has a lot of play in the shaft, so much so that I can open and close points my just rocking the shaft. I can't seem to find the collar/bushing/bearing for repair. All I see for "distributor repair kit" are the points, condenser, etc and nothing about what I need. Looking for a place to order what I need, any suggestions?

Scott

Which distributor is in there?

Distributor absorbent bronze bushing -A1681 from Ron

pull it apart, is it really the shaft and bearings? check the shaft sometimes that is worn and will need a new shaft or bearing relocation.

It's the standard waterproof Autolite 24V M38 distributor. I will try willysdistributors.com and see if I can get lucky.
