Right or wrong there is a good use for them. It keeps distracted drivers from chipping the paint on the bumper when they pull into parking places 8)

I imagine that the stories here are just like any other vehicle owners group. Only the name of the vehicle is differant.

My humble 2 cents. 8)

To each his own, but personally, I have never cared for the look of a rope wrapped around the bumper. My tow rope stays in the tool box.

Y'know when that recalcitrant jeep won't start for anything? Y'know what is a real lifesaver? A handy tow rope so one of the other guys can pull you around until the engine finally fires over. My bride has had to do that using the pickup as a tow vehicle when six volts just won't do the job.

I cannot count the number of times I have had to use the rope to either start one of mine, or somebody else's jeeps at a winter event. Frequently at FIG on a frosty morning!

I also have helped 'un-ditch' my share of both stuck civilian vehicles and other MV's in the snow/sand/mud using my tow rope. It is the most used piece of OVM on my jeep.

Save the jewelry for last, get out the wrenches and iron out the bugs first.

Rope is good to use as when jerking the vehicle out of the hole, where it was stuck, as it gives, vs a chain that has no give thus damaging the stuck vehicle

Hello all

If you are looking for a good quality rope check out matts recovery on youtube. He was selling Yankum ropes from his channel. Being they are bright yellow you may not want to wrap it on the bumper.
