Rebuilt transmission, but . . .

Post by Scott in NM » Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:38 pm

Just finished my first transmission rebuild. Prior to attaching to transfer case everything rotated freely just like the videos. Now that the transfer is attached, I cannot rotate the main shaft by hand. Is this normal or have I screwed something up somewhere? I have my newbie opinions but want expert input. Thanks.

Happened to me. My rear bearing spacer was out of speck and pushed the rear bearing into the transfercase too hard and would not allow movement when bolted together tightly. Try looseing the connection between the trans and trnasfer case and see if that lets the shaft turn.
