Engine getting rebuilt. Rebuilders asked how I wanted it painted. Is the regular spray paint satisfactory or do I need a high heat paint?

Re: Engine paint
What color? I remember two colors used on M-38, OEM was similar to 24087 SG and Depot Rebuilds would be either gray or OD.

Re: Engine paint
i used regular spray paint from dealers. high temp isn't necessary for the engine block in my experience. painting the manifold would need high temp paint but the manifold isn't painted on the jeep

Re: Engine paint
Ordinary enamel as well (back in the old days) GI 24087 will give a durable finish, I like to spray a coat of enamel on NOS manifolds, it puts a protective layer of red oxide colored baked on finish and prevents the exhaust manifold from the usual rusting and pitting.
Hi Temp is not necessary.
(I do prefer to give NOS mufflers a coat of Hi-Temp silver that gives the muffler a lasting silver finish instead of the usual rust.

Re: Engine paint
Standard body paint on everything but the exhaust manifold. I sand blast them, then paint with black or iron, high temp paint. I don't like them to rust. That gets hot; no other part of the engine does.
