I was looking to sell this and was told to come here for more knowledge/info before I do. It’s been in the garage for a long time and I am wanting to make an at home garage gym so considering it still.

Welcome to g503. If you can manage to, you should keep it.

Welcome.
First: get the jeep; then get a complete set of TMs and read them every day, go onto the M Series jeep site and read that. Get the green book: M38 Reference Guide; read that every day. Only then can you even touch that jeep.
Come up and I will show you all about them. After we get the vaccine.

Honestly it’s been sitting in the garage for years and I feel like it’s going to rust or just get worse Image

From what it appears from your photos selling it could translate into a lot of home gym equipment.

Just sent you an e-mail with a list of questions and request for photo's to evaluate what you have. If you're not too far up in East Texas I could come inspect it in person.

Ok, now it sounds like you want to sell it; that's ok too because the M38 is the best of the flat fender jeeps, and there is a lot of demand for them. Pictures.

Honestly I say I want to fix it up, but then years go by and nothing gets done and I feel guilty looking at it

I’m south of Tyler, I just left for a few days but I can check/verify things when I get back to answer everything.

what do you know of this Jeep's history? Is the little data plate on the wheel well behind the passengers seat still there?

Or, what is the serial number on the dash data plates. Your video is too dark to see telltale indicators as to early or late. It does have the dash mounted primer so it MAY be an early M38.

How about rust? There seems to be a lot of correct original pieces still on that jeep.
