My starter has failed. Don't trust local repair shop to do work. Starter exchange with suppliers is rather costly, i.e., approx. $400. I have repair manual and also donor starter for parts. A few questions before I begin. Is it possible to bench test with 12v without damaging the starter? What are the most common components that require replacement? Brush? Armature? Other? Thanks in advance.
