Is the Champion J8C the correct spark plug and heat range for the M38. Looking at a conversion kit online. I currently use 2243 Autolite.

Are you talking the Midwest Military civilian to waterproof spark plug adaptors? If so, use whatever plug is specified for CJ3a.
