M38 specific headlight bezel

I agree that the forty dollar price isn't bad, all things considered. you get the gasket, the screws and the clips too boot. you couldn't buy a headlight door for a newer vehicle that cheap. I looked a long time before I found NOS ones for my two M38s, along with NOS grills. Ive still got a pair I took off of one of them. They were chromed at one time (for the Generals Jeep no doubt) but they are sound. I wouldn't sell them for 40/each because they are darned hard to find.

Speaking of door screw, where can one find them? Mine are missing 5. I purchased some on Ebay from another vendor. BUT, they had the right head on the outside but the thread was sheetmetal. I don't want to cut new threads in the mounts so I looking for the correct ones.

I'll spec them out and see how close I can get. They are a Pan Head with a reduced diameter for those little wire crimps that attach screws to the ring.. It is very unlikely that any dealer has these by part number. I have looked before and the SNL's do not list the dimension.

I'm not building a perfect M38, I got mine with no engine or transmission, it now has a Ford 289 V8, I'm trying to keep the tub as stock as possible. Found a really nice arctic hardtop for it, including the correct windshield.

Put out an M-38 wanted post. I will look to see Iif I have any used on my headlite shelf. I can't sell my spares tho as they are spares to keep my MV's going.
