How do you ID the proper Ramsey winch?

Post by chasendeer » Fri Jul 06, 2018 7:25 am

I'm looking at buying a winch from a guy. It looks to be a model 50. what are the identifying marks on them? I don't have any photos of it yet.
Thanks

Make sure it is not a Y50R as it won't work.It should have a name plate on it.You can go on the web and see what each one looks like.

Also make sure it is not a European copy. If it says GDP on it is a copy

It looks to be correct from what I can tell. It has a smooth top with out fill plugs.
Thanks

If you post I photo it can be confirmed. The 50r would have plugs on the top. The 50 will not
