Cuno filter

Post by JMZ421 » Sun Jun 04, 2023 6:30 am

I noticed some oil splashed up under my hood and I know it's coming from the Cuno filter. Question; does that shaft on the cuno head go bad or wear out? It appears the oil coming from there right under the handle. Thanks, John

This old post suggests that tightening the packing nut under the T-handle a little may stop the leak.

Taking it apart and cleaning it once in awhile probably wouldn't hurt either.

I see NOS replacement heads on fleabay for $20 plus postage.

Who knows, maybe get lucky and find a replacement packing in the plumbing section at the local hardware store?

Good luck!

I just bought the head for $15 and I have some new gaskets for the bowl laying around here. Thanks Ron, John
