M38 Passenger Seat Leg

Post by Rod » Sun Mar 22, 2020 5:38 am

On the M38, the parts manual describes a change to the front passenger seat at about Serial number 58,361. The old part number as 7697504 and the new part number as 8328488. The manual does not give any details as to what changed.

Anyone know what the changes were? I am trying to determine if the leg on passenger seat went from a “V” shape to an “L” shape or vise-versa.

The mods I remember were chance from cotter pins to solid metal pin used to safety the Passenger Seat Pivot Pins. I have one NOS Spare Passenger Seat and it is the late one, not sure if earlier M-38 Seat had a different "L" shaped leg where the Passenger Seat rests in Tool Box.
