Aluminum Oil Pump

Post by harve » Thu Jan 10, 2019 6:58 pm

I’ve noticed a aluminum Oil pump on my M38 L134. I’ve never seen one before ,only the standard cast pumps

Aluminum pump was standard; I replaced mine with a new Melling one and oil pressure literally went from ten to 60.

Early 50's it was made by EATON. Part Number was WO-649871, the later Cast Iron one was WO-804484.
They were identical in appearance ans shared internals and there was no advantage or disadvantage.

Yes and no.
