RE: Willys RMC L134 engine for my M38
My engine rebuilder has come across an uncommon modification: internal camshaft bearings. This RMC engine must have suffered a seizure or major catastrophe, as he has never seen this before (and he's rebuilt about 50 L134 jeep engines). We all know the camshaft has a front bearing that gets replaced and that the internal journals are simply machined out of the block without any inserts, a metal on metal design like the old Ford tractors. To salvage this block, the military added the inserts. We need the part numbers for the inserts! The clearance between the internal journals with a NOS cam installed is about 0.020", which will render the oil pressure to 5psi and that just won't do.

The bearing dimensions required are as follows:
#2 O.D. 2.282" and I.D. 2.120"
#3 O.D. 2.240" and I.D. 2.060"
Both are .650" WIDE
Can anyone out there assist here?
