Door Frame

Post by rdh778 » Fri Nov 12, 2021 6:01 am

Anyone know how the door frames attach to the mutt? I see the top attachment but can't figure out how the bottom attaches to the body.

hi
at the side must be a bracket so the flat lip go in and a strap hold the door at place

That bracket is for the door rod. The front door rod mount is not as long but the same concept. It's spot welded to the cowl side panel. Lower left on picture

And for the record, that is not an original door rod. I threw that together as I didn't have rods. The original is stamped and offset in so the bottom of the door is against the side panel. Or at least close to it.

The rods that Mark are showing are the side curtain rods. The rods we are talking about with the doors are actually in the door and slide into the bottom bracket while balancing the door and feeding the fabric into the channel on the body. GREAT design! Oh, Forgot to mention getting the top pin lined up at the same time also.

Ya, you can see the curtain being close enough to fit on the rod, I was showing how the flat part of the rod fits in the slot.Which I thought the doors had too.Once again my memory isn't very good. When I figure how to delete my post, I will.I had some doors but no more.

The door has the same style end as the curtain rod. It's not as long but as stated, same concept at the bottom and both have a pin at the top.
