Ken, What about the oval floor drains used on the straights? Or the "Run 1" stamp on the body? I would name the early front steering knuckle but that was only on the first couple years. But body stampings are pretty much permanent.
Rick..... an excellent suggestion. I'd presumed that as there was no spade handle retainer U-bracket, it was an A1 but if it has had new panels inserted, that bracket may have gone...as per the BO Stoplight bracket.

Ken

lolo....have a look at the front floor panels...driver and passenger sides. On early models there are floor drains like these in the photo. Later models had small louvers, like a metal lip, to drain the water. What does your vehicle have?

Also, on early models, the very first batch was marked "RUN-1" on the rear fender tops and back panel....other areas as well. You will have to look closely, the stamping may be hidden under the paint.

hello, so i have the wavy drains (not like the picture) and no "run 1" none

the mutt is recorded here in France as a 1969 but I can change the year or the budd and re-record it

Hello lolo....

Because your vehicle is already registered as a 1969.... if I were in your shoes, I would leave everything exactly as it is. Many people here in England and in the US also sometimes have BIG problems when they try to change the registration details.

There is nothing to stop you changing the dataplate or the hood number but my advice? Don't try to change the details that you (or the previous owner) used to register the vehicle. It can go VERY wrong.

yes I will leave it in 1969, it could have been worse if for example it looked like an A2, I have one more question, this missing plate was on all the mutt?

Yes, that plate is on all M-151's. It is usually mounted on the front of the passenger side rear fender well. They are readily available from the aftermarket.

Those are not supposed to be bolts in the battery tray, there are two rubber drain tubes that are supposed to be there that go out through the floor. And I see the scupper type drain in the front floor showing that it is a late 64 to 69 A1. Sure is clean!!! See what happens when you clean it, people like me find all kinds of other things to look at.

I also notice a lot of bolts going through the rear floor, what are the holding underneath?

well seen for the draining of the batteries thank you, I am not going below yet, next step! sheet metal elements have been replaced, the two front floors, the rear cross member and a whole side, but fortunately super well done!

The area around/under that battery tray looks "different". Like there is something under the tray that does not belong there. Hard to say without removing the tray. You bought a 151 without looking under it?!!!!!! Brave man!!  But judging from the condition of the rest of the work I am sure it will be fine. Just like the rear panel that Ken pointed out that does not have the stiffening ribs in it, it is possible that the person doing the work did not have access to replacement panels or just preferred to make his own. So you may find more of the same under the battery tray and under the vehicle. If the work is done well then what harm is there?

it is true that I did not lie down under the vehicle, I am a beginner and I would have thought that these machines were indestructible !! fault

but as you say in view of the work done it is neat,

I have a question about the seats, there are safety straps on the edges to prevent falling, but on my driver's seat the attachment is on the right is this normal?

To the best of my knowledge the strap is only on the passenger side and the seat frames are the same for both sides so that is why you have the strap holder on the inside. There is no right and left seat.
