Good morning
I just picked up my first 151 yesterday, a 1966 model with arctic package. It has been siting in dry storage since sometime in the mid 70's. It is in really nice shape, no rust not even the battery box. However both differentials are out of it. Came with a new engine (still in crate) probably just as old. I need all kinds of advice. Would be nice for a knowledgeable person to stop by and see what I have gotten into. Is there someone I could get in touch with in the Michigan Ohio area ?

Before you do anything with that engine drain the oil that is in it taking note if there is any water in the oil. These stored engines accumulate a lot of condensation and it can wreak havoc inside. Then pull the valve cover off and see if there is any rust under it. If the oil is clean and no water at the bottom and the valve cover and top of the head are rust free then you are good to go. Be sure to put oil in the cylinders, I always put Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders weeks before starting an old engine and turn it by hand two full revolutions right before staring it.
If you do find water or rust you definitely need to pull the oil pan to look up into the innards to see if it is all rusty in there. Been there, done that.
