Is there any difference between the A1 grill and the A2 grill. Parts manual doesn't show a part number difference but I would like to make sure. I found one nos on ebay but it's listed only as a A2 grill

I'd say the A1 grill had round holes for the blinkers.

The holes in the A1 and straight 151 grill are for the blackout lights. The A1 turn signals are on the fenders. No signals on the straights.

Rick's on it, but if you had looked at the comparison post done last week viewtopic.php?f=104&t=306106 it would show photos of the differences (and list them too I think)
Both grills fit into the jeep and if you went for a motorpool restoration an A1 grill may have turned up as a replacement, especially early on, but as issued, there was no reason to have cutouts in the grill (extra manufacturing steps) if the blackout lights were now consolidated in the combined blinker/marker housings embedded in the A2 fenders.

That's what happens when you get old!

I'm the same way. If I would have examined the picture of the one on ebay a little closer I would have noticed that there are no holes for the b/o markers...thanks

Gary......
there are different part numbers for the grilles.
M151 and A1 = 10885028
M151A2 = 11660434

If I remember correctly, the early M151 had an earlier p/n...beginning with "875". I don't have my early TMs with me at present but I'll try to check them soon. Again, IIRC, the very early grille had an extra caged nut on either side which was dropped for later vehicles.

Ya, Rickf,that must be it, I also tried telling the Union hall that the electricity destroyed my brain cells so I should get a pension out of it, also the same to the power company we did the work for. No, I wasn't successful I still think I am right!!
