My New Toy

Post by DevilDog7090 » Mon Nov 05, 2018 6:11 am

Here is my new toy. His name is "Ma Deuce." He carries the Browning M2 .50 caliber machine gun. Found him in NY where his previous owner (a retired Army Command Sergeant Major) recently passed. RIP Bruce. It is a 1977 uncut M151A2. When my wife and I were in the Corps, we would use my jeep during lunch. I put my wife's old Marine Corps Service Number on the hood. I drove many others, especially when I was the Adjutant for 2nd Bn, 5th Marines in 1982-83. A tribute to that battalion is on the jeep. Getting ready for the Veterans' Parade here in Branson, MO.

Read your own statement of the rules, "we reserve the right to take such action as it deems appropriate in cases where the Service is used to disseminate statements which are deeply and widely offensive and/or harmful.". You are in Belgium, not here in the USA. Are you letting in thousands of illegal immigrants there? ILLEGAL being the KEY word! Maybe we, as the general readership, do not see this as a harmful statement. The US Army has already been deployed to the border. The people will be offered the chance to apply for citizenship in the proper and orderly manner. Not going to just walk in and sponge off of our good graces. I worked my entire life and I get NOTHING for free, medical, housing, food, I have to pay for it all. Illegal immigrant gets most of that for free! On my dime!

I, for one, fail to see where there was a message that was harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful and where 'the Service is used to disseminate statements which are deeply and widely offensive and/or harmful'.
His mutt is ready to drive in the Veteran's Day Parade and to drive to the Mexican border, maybe parades are going on there too.
So he had a good post showing off his mutt.

This is what makes America great that we have the rights to say and speak our minds as free people. And I agree there was nothing wrong with what he said at all and I agree with the other people on here as well. I served my country and I never got anything for free once in it. I had to work my whole like and I proud to say that I am not sucking the system dry. I go to bed at night and I sleep well knowing that I did my time in the Army right and I protected people on here on the G to say what they want to say. America is the land of opportunity here and with that said that does not mean America has to provide you with anything here, it states again that you have the choice as an America to making your dreams come true. Nothing more and nothing less. But I hope that in the end that we all can get along and work for the goal of support each other in this hobby. This hobby should not be a divided thing when it comes to anything that anyone says here. We all have our views and at the end of the day I think that we have to respect everyone and what they are saying here. I mean we do not have to like it, but we have to realize that we have to stand for the ones that do not understand what this country stands for. This is my two cents here for what it is worth. But take care and I will continue to pray for this country that we will always have the rights to have freedom!

know recharging the battery's in that jeep is can of a pain
so this is what happen to me maybe it will not happen to you i have a 524 radio in my jeep any comment on that will be nice and interesting

I leave mine setting for up to 4-5 months and it has a working 524. While the batteries are usually down a bit that is just plain self discharge. It always starts by itself. And I also leave the light switch in "service lights" position. That said, I have an A1 with the 25 amp generator and separate regulator.

Nice looking A2, DD, and if it's not going to be driven regularly, a 24v battery tender will pay for itself in the long run.
