Anyway, always looking to read peoples stories about their recent Mutt finds. Or ones they passed up on.
Cheers

Gunny
Just got back a hour agofrom looking at an early M151 with Magnesium rims, plus about 3 pickup loads of parts. I have to come up with an offer for the widow. I do not need another project, but do not want to see it go to scrap or made into a hunting rig.

Bringing this M151A1 back to Colorado from Texas. My father gave this to me way back in 2001 he has since passed. He had served two tours in Vietnam.
The MUTT has been sitting in my parents garage for 14 years or so as I didn't have room for her until now.

I have a 1977 M151A2 with a little history after it left the service; I don't have any records of it while in service. My Mutt was in the pond in Washington, DC along with the John Deere tractor that shutdown DC back in 2003. If you look up John Deere Tractor man shuts down DC on internet you can read the article about it, The article will say he drove his John Deere tractor and military style jeep in the pond. When I got the MUTT, it was painted black, but I have restored it back to a 82nd AB MP version because the man (Dwight Watson) that owned it was an MP in the 82nd. There is even a short clip on U tube showing the MUTT in the pond.

Actually it (rust) wasn't too bad, had more holes in it that I had to weld up from where he had mounted some ammo cans and some other items, The MUTT Guru was a big help in providing info to get it back to where it is today. If I knew how to post pictures I would show the before and after, but I am old school and don't know how.

I bought the M151 I posted about to you in May of 2018, got the jeep and about 4 pickup loads of parts, just started going though them...still do not know what all I have.
Also, just bought another M151A2 off here, and will have it here on Sunday. Last month picked up a nice M35A2, with a lot of extra goodies.
I am a WWII vehicle collector, do not know why this M series stuff keeps showing up.....

I just purchased my M151A2 CDN from a Kijiji ad this oast week. I actually flew from Ontario to British Columbia, then rented a car and drove through the Rockies, deep into the BC interior to 100 Mile House to see it and drive it. Did the deal on the spot. It’s now in the process if being shipped back to Toronto and I have to clear out my garage to make space for it!

Thanks to Will Van Den Born, the previous owner for his hospitality and being such a pleasure to deal with. A true gentleman.
