ok, I actually used the TDC and valve techniques as you mentioned before because I could not find that line on the pully. Runs great and no issues. I know its has to be timed right. I was just curious I found those three dot/punch markings odd just thought to ask. I sanded and cleaned that pulley I think what looks like a faint of a marking let me post that to see what you think.

I really cleaned this pulley here is what I believe to be the timing line. I placed some silver paint to show its indentation better.

Thats it. It would have been a little more prominent when new but I think towards the end of the run of pulleys the stamping die was worn out, or it might have been cast in and the casting just plain wore out. I would just keep my eyes open for a replacement A2 crank pulley. They can't be very hard to find. OR, You could just take a triangle file or hacksaw blade and make that notch a bit deeper and call it done.

Did you have the radiator rodded out and cleaned? Looks like they did a nice job soldering the brackets. Looks like the top support bracket is bent down a bit, I have seen that a lot from getting stepped on or heavy stuff laid on it.

Just looking at the pic of the side of the engine I notice the vacuum line going from the distributor up to the air cleaner and it is laying on the plug wires. It should be below the wires by the top of the tappet cover. Where it is it could possibly wear through the wire casing or the casing could wear through the tube, either way not good.

Oh that’s a good eye, yes I need to fix that thanks. That is not good 👍 I made those lines out of copper I will remake that to run along the side plate. The radiator shop rodded/boiled/Stemmed in a pot to clean out the cores and straighten out the fins repair as needed pressure check and paint.

I can always count on you Rick for squaring me away

How much were you charged for the radiator cleanout/repair?
Curious as to the going rate in Tx.

Hello Rick,
Question that vacuum line from the distributor does it mount to the first bolt on the engine tappet cover because the vacuum pump lines take the middle two? I need to locate a clamp loop I don't have.

Don't really know, Mine has a ton of stuff on the hood so can't look there. It should show up in the -34P picture. Or maybe even the -20P.

you can remove the spark plug wires from the plug, bend the vacuum line down so the spark wires are above the vacuum line.

Thanks David,

That makes it seem like an easier fix route. I did some research from old pictures I had and I seen one picture lastnight showing that line secured with a clamp on the side cover. Thats why I was asking about the route. I was going to just remake the line in case it turns out too short but in the picture you provided it seems the line is just placed and see the line is not clamped or secured. That seems even easier and simpler. Oh that picture shows all the lines under the thermostat housing kind of too close to the fan  your thoughts?
