TOW MUTT to Hagerstown 4 May 23

Just a heads up if anyone wants info or photos/measurements of TOW related items I will be hauling my 1977 TOW MUTT up to Hagerstown (former Aberdeen Show) 4-6 May (this week).

I've always wondered if the yoke, optics and launch tube can be 3D printed for a static display.

Sure, but you ain't doing it with your average home printer!!! That would take a HUGE printer!

Maybe in sections, then glued together.
Fiberglass resin over an armature would be more cost effective.

There are printing places that do big posters, probably do section pieces then glue/tape together?I don't know how big these pieces are.The 3D part could the tough part to do.

Mark, I am not sure we are talking about the same thing. The 3D printing Jay is talking about completely duplicate the part, or in this case the vehicle, down to the last detail in a plastic composite. I am talking something that looks and feels like the real thing. Except plastic. You've heard of 3d printed handguns? This is that process.

And if they can do this then a Mutt would be childs play!!!!!!

I'd say it depends on the seller, customer. Stay at home reviewers point.
Sellers for the most part were lacking customers, but that depends on what they are seeking.
Light, short shower or two Wed/Thu morning, then just light winds. Temps started cold, but ended warm.
Vendors were moved away from last years positions due to fencing of storage area by a business, but everything still fit fine.
Just wasnt a lot of buyers in my view, sold just enough to pay for elcheapo hotel for 3 nights.
About 15-20 vehicles for show, including. Unrestored #40 GPW (missing engine)
WWII wrecker, 2 excellent CCKW Tippers(dump trucks), 6-7 MBs, several MUTTs.
Found some unique items, now three ejection seats of different types, three or four dealers in ordnance (bombs/shells/parts)

So a good mix of old/nos/takeoff parts for every vehicle, WWII onward.
One jeep parts dealer (Daryl Bessinger)

TOW MUTT won best of show, so next years 50th anniversary T-Shirt will have her rendering, so it was worth it to me.

2023 Hagerstown

So basically going the same route as the old Aberdeen shows? Constantly moving your spots and no consistency to their actions. I remember when the new president came to me at the Gilbert show two years ago and was really pushing for me to go to Hagerstown. He said it is all new people in charge now but when I asked if we could camp on site he told me I would have to ask Anja. That sealed it for me, same people running things and as it turns out same shenanigans. She and her husband are the ones that kicked our entire group out of our spots we had for years at Aberdeen because they needed the area "for traffic control" The following year I went just to browse (nobody from our group ever vended there again) and there was a quarter million dollar RV parked in our spots covering that entire area and Jim Henry took over the rest of the road. So instead of having a one lane road they had no road, yea traffic control my arse!!! And it is a 6 hour ride for me now so if it is not a good show it is not worth it for me to go.

See "The Stay at home reviewer" like I stated.
You cannot review an event if you did not attend, complaining about items which the organizers cannot control is not helpful. They did not erect an 8' high fence on a quarter of what was our spaces last year.
And staying at home means you are not interested in seeking face to face bargaining.
Stick with online ordering and shipping charges, to each their own.
I drive 6 hours each time, others drive more, some less, no merit to this.

It was our first time to Hagerstown. Was it worth the 700 miles each way? If you look at the total experience, especially making new friends and seeing old ones, yes it was worth it. Deals were to be found....set of NOS M151 Side curtains, early driver seat, plus saved on shipping as Daryl and Jim brought a bunch of LARGE parts for me to haul home. Plus my wife had a good time

Will we go next year? Probably, but mainly for the social aspect of it.

Ok, good point and understood. Don't know anything about the stay at home reviewer. But for me to go to that show take all the resources I have for the year and probably eliminate Gilbert from my schedule. I did the Aberdeen show for 35 years before that bounced us out. I went from the proving grounds to the mud pit at Churchville to the parking lot at the stadium. I saw the progression/regression of how the shows were run and if I am going to go to one now much farther away I want to know what is happening in relation to the past. I basically want to make an informed decision. Gilbert is a fantastic show and is well attended by both vendors and customers and as such is one I do not want to miss due to a show that is very marginal. So I depend on the reviews of people that were there and compare them to my past experiences. Will, I know you and I know you have been going to that show for as long as I have so you know exactly what I am talking about. I am a one man show on a VERY limited budget so I have to pick and choose. I will no longer comment on the shows, I will make my decisions in private.

Turned 25K in first ten months. It must of been all of those trips to EL Dorado
