The problem is how to hold a hammer and dolly on that large piece unless I’m Mr. Stretch or with two people. Working fenders and panels you get your hand behind I can see that possible but that floor panel :?: I don’t see it. Guy does have them.

That is where you get creative with a jack and a steel plate from underneath.

The other day I was taking a break from working on my house (painting carport) and wanted to test fit my camera placement on the M151A1. I was looking for a good angle to see the driver point of veiw from the rear. This is the video I made of the test drive after mounting my crash cam.

Neat video, I put one of those crash cams in my truck and it vibrates a lot also. I figured if I bought a Garmin it was a good brand. Would have been better off with a cheapo Chinese one for a lot less. I see you like first gear, I never use first in mine unless I am in a parade or on a steep hill. In the beginning of the video the dash lights appeared to be flashing before you started the engine, what is that?

Good eye Rick, I noticed that because of the loop from the power feed to crash cam. And only flickered when I started the crash cam before running the power I’m gonna run a better power source for the crash cam to stop that. Oh I do have a Garmin. That’s what I’m using.

Find yourself and inverter from 24 volt to 12 volt. That will keep the batterie in balance and they can be found online and in any truck stop since most trucks are 24 volt.

I have and small inverter but took it off because the power supply cable is duel- voltage. I have the same setup in my hmmwv with no problems. I need to run a direct power with a fuse if not I’ll put back my inverter

Difference being the Hummer has two monster Hasp 6tagm batteries compared to a 151's two small 2HN or upgraded 51R Honda batteries. So running a 12 volt load off of one battery in the Hummer does not compare to the mutt. Plus a lot of the Hummers also have 24/12 volt alternators and a separate 12 volt battery system.

it’s been a while posting anything, it’s finally getting cool (75-85) in San Antonio I decided to take a ride to take advantage of good weather  . Load a behold, all of a sudden while driving, my Mutt decided to not idle then Black exhaust smoke while driving setting a smoke screen after getting home smoked the neighbors  . I tried to adjust the idle screw up to where it will run the engine runs way to rich. It does not idle no matter what I do now. At first, I thought my fuel went bad and I drained it all out. Checked my plugs which had lots of black carbon from running rich and distributer didn’t see anything. I couldn’t find any signs of bad plugs or wires without a timing light. It starts right up but does not stay on. Sounds like a common problem with the carburetor probably the accelerator diaphragm. Going to order a rebuild kit or another carburetor. Does anyone have a rebuilt Zenith 12848? I know a few other places offer some, just asking.

Do you have to have the 12848? That is an A1 only carb. They all fit all years so it does not really matter butt you will get more power out of the 13660. More being relative when you are talking a massive 71 horses to begin with.

hello Rick, yes I have the 12848. I have never used a 13660 is that also a zenith? So you're saying if I tried that I would get more horses? I'm game, do you have one? Does it take resetting the points or timing or plug gap?

When I say you will have more horsepower that is kind of real and kind of tongue in cheek. You might gain 1/2-1 horsepower. You will get a cleaner burning carb. I know I have several 13660's I can build. I might even have one or two 12848's. They are getting hard to come by. It sounds like it could just be a bad diaphragm. I have a lot of good used diaphragms that I have taken out of carbs I have rebuilt. I could send you one of them if you find yours is bad. Or I could build you a new 13660 carb. I have not been getting enough requests to rebuild carbs anymore to keep my equipment just sitting around waiting for a job. It takes up space on my bench I could put to better use so I am going to start rebuilding all of the cores I have and selling them off.
