Packard connector adapter for lights

Post by zoro » Tue Apr 13, 2021 10:24 am

Is there an adapter out there that will connect the individual packard style plugs to the newer style 5 pin connectors?

That looks like a metal housing. Did AMG ever use metal lights on the HMMWV ?
You state "older style with rubber plugs". :?: :?: :?:
What is the part number of that light? and date of manufacture? Is it for the Dong Feng ?

Your going to need to find the part number on the lamps connector and buy the mate for it and make up a pigtail harness to go between the two. That part number should look something like this : MS3106-14-5P MS3106 is the connector style, 14 is the connector size and the 5P tells you there are 5 male pins in it. The size and contacts may be different in yours but use this as a guide to help you find them. Look on Ebay and you'll probably find the mating connectors.

Chop the connector off close to the connector. Toss in in the trash. Strip and crimp on some standard cheap packard's on and...done.

Simpler to offer it up in trade for a correct model.
And you would be seeking a 'Cannon plug' (or Amphenol Industrial connector) to Rubber Packard harness if they even made one.
If you had a photo of the end of the plug, (pin pattern) someone may have the opposite end, perhaps from a turn signal stalk harness or a scrap newer wiring harness that used the connectors.

Site has a table allowing you to select pin numbers and size for standard connectors (you may be in for sticker shock):
