Getting ready to research my drive shafts, based on what Augi stated:

A2 Front Drive Shaft (Only the section between the slip joint and the T-Case) (Alternatively, lengthen the existing shaft by 2? inches)
A2 Rear Drive Shaft (Shortened 7/8" if you plan to keep the drive shaft parking brake)

What NSN or P/N are used for the the above? I'm thinking these are the parts referenced:

A2 Front: P/N: 6222607
A2 Rear: P/N: 319800-2109

Ok just installed the front drive shaft I'm waiting for the rear input flange so that I can remove the old parking brake input flange to the new version to connect the the rear shaft.

I do have a question. I had the reverse light set up with my three speed not sure about the four speed. Does the four speed shifter still use the neutral safety switch? I believe still wire #14. Where does the reverse light switch/plug go? Does it take a special adapter another item *D?

Just talked to Mike at Black Dog customs and he actually has a video going over this thought to share it.

I have been off line for a while finishing up my installation. Here more pictures on my final installation of my 4L80E upgrade and man it is sweet. For starters I used a after market wiring harness from Black Dog Customs for 6.2 V Belt wiring harness kit. After installation the only programming you need to do is turn power on and set the throttle position sensor (TPS) calibration and your set. What's good about this quick 2 its hooks to a any computer with USB and you can program shift points to your liking. The quick 2 software is programable. I don't plan on being on any episode of street outlaws and having to find the perfect shift points for ambient temperatures but I like its easy to use. Its just not water proof so I may make a water proof box or something. When I purchased the 4L80E it came with transmission control box and computer with wire harness ends so If I wanted to use that configuration I have that option. I went with the Black Dog kit.

What kept me delayed was I was waiting for my cross member, u-joints for the rear shaft and neutral safety switch adapter.

Image

Installing throttle position senor by removing pin and installing throttle position sensor.
Image

Image

Installing harness to start switch power cable 29A.

I placed the quick 2 in the read back seat compartment. This is the picture before mounting it. You can see the display and gear selection and temperature. This is when I first powered up the quick 2 and you can read I need to set up the TPS.
Image

I mounted the quick 2 on a angle plate I had.
Image

Pulled power from the rear battery and inline fuse.
Image

So when I went for a test drive #1 it was sweet until I hit around 60 and my rear diff blew the input bearing!!!!!!!!! WTF :o Now I had to order a rear diff. The concern I had was trying to find a NOS 2.56 so instead I converted both to 2.73 with NOS parts. And man they were factory sealed boxes. So switching them out took a bit because I was working on it in the evenings removing the old ones and received the parts pretty quick like three days.

Image

I forgot how hard it was to break lose the input and output shafts, holy crap

Image

This is why when I posted the first picture the diff looks new this is why.
Image

Well finally got that crap installed then went for a test drive #2  and man its nice to see going 65 mph @ 2900/3000 rpm when before I used to run 55 mph @ 3500/3800 RPM going down hill. That over drive is sweet!!!!!!!!!

So next task is changing out front springs.

Installed a protecting wall for my transmission quick 2 module out of some scrap material which turned out nice. I needed protection wall in able to still be available to store my recovery chains and tools.

Follow up on my road test results. I actually forgot I took my Garmin crash cam and almost for got it tracks actual speed and location. So here is it. My top speed is actually 81 MPH and average speed of 72 MPH while driving through traffic in my neighborhood on IH10 with light city traffic. I can image on an open road. I was really impressed with the improvement in speed I have actually achieved and this is with a V-belt 6.2. Here is a picture of top speed and the link to the video on my youtube

Looking Good. I would have never thought you could get those type of results from a 6.2 NA V-Belt. I have always believed the best way to upgrade was to go the route of the 6.5 and 4L8E. Now I'm going to just shoot for a the 4L8E and possibly the diffs too. I'm glad you did this and showed how you did it. Just wish someone with the know how answered your questions so if/when I do it there will be more detail in here.
Great Job!

FKAM,

Thanks I did resolve most of my issues, if you need anything give me a PM. I will help with ideas. The plug and play Quick 2 works really great. Rather than missing with that harness and CPU system. The other ideas the guys did are great systems as well.

I see a new differential going in? I’m assuming you matched your front snd rear diff ratio, as the left looks like a 2.73

Yes, that was my concerns was locating a matching NOS 2.43 but no luck so I switch both out for NOS 2.73. Run like a "NOS"

lol, dam another typo  I meant to type "sniper" but snipper is actually better  . I actually tested my brakes at the end of my video and the neighbors were not happy. In fact one came out and said I was driving over "way 30mph" but actually IAW GPS was 29 mph

ok I got side tracked and upgrade my speedometer with the electronic speedometer accessory kit. This is really nice in fact I went for another 18 mile drive today to validate its accuracy with my GPS. It is exactly the same speed as the GPS.

But before I went on a drive I powered the system up to check. Glad I did and could smell a light trace of a hot wire. So after going through I realized its the shielding of the harness cable hitting the resister. In the installing it requires to use a bracket to shift it over a bit which is the picture below the top of the page. It still a bit to close for me. But also I did see that it mentions a low profile register below I guess that is installed on the M1114 version.

Image

I couldn't find this version in the TM does anyone know of this one below? I think the part number is 12480604 but I could not find it in the TM's. Does anyone know or have a better part number?
