I got the dash 2 version, which has an extra terminal for a light. This actually works in my favor as I'm actually able to wire up the voltage regulator with custom-made insides that are basically a bypass.Wolfman wrote:Looking good !

Here's how it all turned out today after painting and installing. Runs great, getting a solid 14.3-14.9 depending on how much throttle I give it.

Does the Power Master have a woodruff key ??
From the pics in your link, I don't see one. Looks like a Delco alternator arrangement. The pulley is just a tight fit on the shaft and the pulley nut clamps the pulley in place and secures it.
With the OEM jeep pulley extra width and no key, only half or less of the nut threads to hold everything together. Scary !
Loctite is good but ??
Not sure what you could do.
Maybe a little off the rear shaft spacer behind the pulley. A little off the cooling fins on the pulley so it can fit on the shaft a little farther. A little off the face of the pulley that the nut fits up against. Anything to get more threads to hold everything together.
Would not make that much difference in the appearance or belt alignment.
My aviation side coming out. I hate to walk home.
Otherwise, that is some really great work !!!

That's pretty cool! And now people don't have to gut a voltage regulator if they don't want to, Joe's Motor Pool sells reproductions of the empty housings (as well as a repro of the complete unit, but with electronic insides that let you flip from 6v to 12v with the flick of a switch! Pretty nifty). I think Ron F. sells both, but may be out of stock at the moment.

I received my rebuilt Dodge WC 12 volt genny and regulator last weekend. It didn't get upgraded to a gener-nator after all. Since it was so large he would have had to retool, so he rebuilt it as a generator and electronic regulator. Less cost which is fine. And. after changing out two generators since I finished this project there, is life on the amp gauge. Started the vehicle and when I revved it up a bit, it shows 50 amps or so. I was beginning to think my amp gauge didn't work.
The R&R of these two units is not a job I want to do again really ever. He weighed the genny and it is 65 lbs. I can't install it or pull it out leaning over the tall fenders. Have to use the engine crane to get it out and back in. The Dodge WC16 Radio Command Car has a electronic suppression canister on the backside that is held on with the pass-through regulator bolts. I have a long reach, but not that long. Have to get tricky to get it done by myself.
Anyway, he still has 5 more regulator/genny projects to do for me. The small Dodge WC generators may be converted to gener-nators. This is the monster 12 volt Dodge WC genny and regulator that he rebuilt for me. Regulator is electronic. He said it's now a 95 amp unit. As long as the headlights work and I'm not on the side of the road anytime soon I'll be happy:
