MB rear axle in CJ2a
So I own a jeep salad. Power train and frame is Cj-2a abs body is original MB. I found a MB front and rear axle. Installing the mb front axle in a CJ frame seems like too much modification to make it worth while. The rear axle should be fairly easy. But the gear ratio is different. Can someone help me find the correct ring and pinions set to make a MB rear axle work with a cj2a front axle. Even if you can help be understand what parts I should be getting, it will help in the search. Thank you

Re: MB rear axle in CJ2a
MB rear axle is the same basic model and the cj2a front, just take cj2a ring pinion and carrier and put it in the mb rear.
mb axle in the front is not a big issue, use the 2a frame steering mount, only difference is the steering knuckle configuration, modify the tie rods.

Re: MB rear axle in CJ2a
Your axle ratio's might already match. Early CJ2A's (1945 and into early 1946) had MB tubs and MB rear axles.

Re: MB rear axle in CJ2a
The early CJ2As with the floating axles, were still the 5:38 ratio
Not the 4:88s of the MBs
Not the 4:88s of the MBs

How many people are looking for this stuff now? I c 3 different screen names on different sites. Stuff has gotta be available new or repop or just grab a 2a front axle. Hard part is putting it in correctly.
