Any standard 12V battery will fit as long as it fits on the battery support frame. It will be lower than the 6Volt battery, so the fender support strip will be too short. You will have to find/make a hold down frame to fit the battery of your choice.

WW11 jeeps used a Group 2 battery. Listed battery sizes vary a little depending on Mfg. A Group 24 12v battery seems to be the closest to size of the original 6v. If you have the original hold down bracket; take it to a battery store and get the closest fit.

A group 2 battery should work with some slop, but no major modifications required. When taking the upper hold down to WalMarts for fitment, make sure the positive top terminal is facing towards the firewall and the negative top terminal is facing towards the radiator so your existing cables will fit. And, the 12v battery took a thinner cable than the 6v battery required.

There are sites on the internet that provide the battery dimensions for each class or size. Measure your hold down and review the list for the closest size.

I use a 12v Battery with the code of 063 - but that may be just a European one.
The alternator is a new Lucas A127 with a maximum output of 75 amps - far more than a jeep needs - but in practice it is within limits.
I have contemplated fitting a slightly larger one, but after more than 10 years, this one has been 100% successful
I have a number of other modifications - Quartz - Halogen headlights, solid state distributor, Weber Carburettor, overdrive, free wheel front hubs and disc brakes on the front axle, and in fact have supplied more than 300 alternator kits including 24v ones for Hotchkiss Jeeps.
I hope you find what you are looking for.
Cheers R

Gunny, I used a 24F Walmart 12 volt battery.
I have a 44 GPW and the battery fits good. I am using a latter 12 volt charging system. The main reason I am operating 12 volt is that I tow my jeep trailer behind my 2015 Chevy truck. I made the hold down rods and top bracket. The over all appearance is stock looking and I am very happy with it.

You can get some thin black plastic/plexiglass drilled to accept the posts and mount three battery cell caps on it for a more authentic 6V look at first glance. Fitted between the hold down and the top of the battery. The sticker removed from the visible side or covered with black tape will help, too.

Black "Haircell" ABS is a pretty good choice. Readily available from TAP Plastics, Amazon or a model hobby shop. Then put a set of these one it:

My Walmart battery is doing a great job. Starts every time. 99 precinct of people looking, grading, or judging you jeep have no idea of original issue. I have always built close to visual appearance. As the jeep approaches its 80th brithday. There are very few orginal examples out there. 12 volt up my friend.
