Need a Solex Banjo Fitting and Bolt

Post by John Neuenburg » Thu Dec 03, 2020 1:14 pm

Anybody have a source for new or used Solex carb parts? I am looking for a gas inlet banjo fitting and bolt. My carb is a M32 PBIC and the fitting and bolt looks like this. It is on the right side:

I went to a few Porsche shops in my city with no luck.

I assume this fitting is stock. It has a female reverse flare, 5/16 I think, with partially stripped threads. It doesn't need to be this setup. It is SAE threads so a hose barb with the normal male pipe threads won't screw in but I thought about soldering something into the fitting, but I misplaced the banjo and bolt!

I'd rather not go to Plan C cutting threads onto a brass tube and screwing it into the carb, using the end like a hose barb. I don't have a metric die. Or Plan D, drilling out a steel bolt to put a hose on.

If anyone has an unused carb like this I can borrow the fitting/bolt from, I would replace it when I find my own parts or when asked.

Guess you don't need it after all.
