Composite body GPW/MB

Post by Seb61pn32 » Sat Aug 29, 2020 3:25 pm

Hello,

I need informations.
I have a march 22 1944 GPW but the tub is not a GPW or F on this glove box or over parts.
It is possible to Ford us composite body without marking the tub?
My jeep was in french army an sold in civilian life in 1948.
The horn holder and the fuel filter are Ford but the rest of the fittings are WILLYS.

A March 22, 1944 GPW would use an ACM type II body. Interesting though, even the chart (in the link below) doesn't include everything. For instance, I have a Sept. '44 MB that has a few differences compared to my October '44 GPW. For example, the MB has a couple of extra bonding studs (for radio suppression) that the GPW doesn't have. I also found an F scripted bracket on the GPW on the underside (sandwiched between the hat channel and the floor) on the passenger seat mount that I mentioned in a different thread recently. Later, in the spring of 1945 a hole was added for the wiper vacuum hose and then after that, the fuel filter mounts were removed from the firewall.
