Are parts available to make the rear differential limited slip? And can the rest of the drive train handle the stress?
Just something I’m looking into for my current jeep project
Thanks in advance
Bill

Re: Limited slip differential
Lock right lockers, nothing fancy,, uses your original carrier. If not listed for rear, the front carrier is the same in cj2a.
45 hp,,, better chance of breaking axle shafts with an open diff. Make sure you have good u joints. But then you could put a 44 in the rear with same locker and ratio.

Re: Limited slip differential
If you can find one, a Dana Spicer "Powr-Lok" limited slip for the Dana 25 axle will fit front and rear of the WW2 jeep. They were factory installed in the last run of M38A1 jeeps that the USMC bought in the 60's, IIRC. Also came in the Dana 27 axles of the M422 Mighty Mites. Herm the Overdrive guy sometimes has them used/refubished. Also sells conversion parts to use the somewhat more common Dana 27 Powr-Loks in the Dana 25.

I have the Dana 25 one in the rear axle of my GPW, very smooth on the street, easily doubled the performance off-road for me! No more spinning tires coming out of washes in the local desert! You can change the arrangement of the clutch pack for a little less locking action for use in the front axle, makes it easier to steer.
