French Army Military ROPS Kit for The MB/GPW/M201 Jeeps

Post by 70th Division » Wed Feb 27, 2019 3:49 pm

Hello,

Here are some pics of a Military ROPS system developed for the MB/GPW/M201 French Army Jeeps.
They do not look too bad, and get covered nicely with the canvas top.
Note, the seat belts are added as well.
(Never use them with out a rops system, in my opinion.)

They are a good safety factor if you use your jeep off road.
I was watching a youtube video of a G member, highly experienced off roading, and he slow rolled his
MB over, but he had a good roll bar system installed, and all was well.

Many of France's MB/GPW/M201 Jeep Fleet in the more recent years of their service were fitted with them.

Here is a link to a jeep where the system held up, did its job,
after rolling off, and down a mountain side in Italy, unoccupied.

Be your own judge, if you use your jeeps off road !!

Safety First !!!

These French type roll bars would be nice to have if you are off-roading, or on- roading a lot.

Best Regards,

Ray

Looks pretty worthless to me, the body crushed, your head would be crushed. Most sanctioned off road events wont let you in with a body mounted roll bar,and you need a 1 piece front bar connected to the back bars, , mount points must be to the frame to do any good.

Better than no ROPS kit. usually the steering wheel is flattened as well as the driver if one flips. A machine gun mounting post saved one kid at Tower Park a few years ago.
