Re: Pop up Ads
I was just thinking the same thing. It used to just be at the top and maybe one at the bottom you can scroll past. Now it's a full screen ad that I have to close before I can do anything. I'm on mobile not sure if it's different on a computer.

Re: Pop up Ads
It may be your settings. I do not get any pop up ads. I know the admin has been working on a particular ad that shows up in the top banner that looks like a log on link.

Re: Pop up Ads
I dont think it's my settings, I haven't touched them and this has only been happening a couple days. Here's some screenshots of what they look like. It's only doing it on this site.

Pop Up Ads From Hell!!!
Normally I have one POP UP ad at the top of the G503 Board Index page. Usually something related to some search or some Ebay item or a game. Today I have SIX of them! Two of them are repeated at least once more. The Board Index page is now TWICE as long because that ads each take up about half of the space that the Forum they precede does.
Right now on this forum, there is a "PT6 turbine engine and parts ad at the top of this forum.
Then of course it is followed by the "War Thunder" game ad that has been a pest on the G503 for quite awhile.
It's getting to be like TV, you watch five minutes of a program and then get 5-6 ads for erectile disfunction, adult diapers, heart meds, sleep aids, beer, soda pop, etc.
I assume the ads are a paying source of money, because if they aren't, what the hell are they doing here?
Since they are all GOOGLE ads, why are we bombarded with ads for crap that bears no relation to MVs?

Re: Pop Up Ads From Hell!!!
As you know, web sites cost money, and the deal is (at least with the hosts with which I deal) is, pay, or we put ads on your site.
So, I am assuming someone did not pay the bill this year. Maybe G members are not ordering enough parts from him.

Re: Pop up Ads
The web host places ads on a web site when the owner does not pay the yearly bill. At least the sites I made are like that. Order more parts from Ron.
There is a "Web Site Issue section" here as well.

Re: Pop Up Ads From Hell!!!
It started out as a bad ad that looked like a login button but installed malware on your pc. In an attempt to get rid of it, not only did we report it to google, but Ken C changed some google ad settings. Then the ads just took over for awhile. I saw full page pop ups. It was horrible. Hopefully it’s calmed down now.

Re: Pop Up Ads From Hell!!!
My PC has three settings to block this stuff. It came with the middle option selected, yet all these ads have suddenly taken over G503 with a "VIMEO" ad on this thread showing up TWICE already...between my original post and dpcd67 and between dpcd67 and Chris's post. I fully expect another "VIMEO" between the post Chris put up and this one.
The "WAR THUNDER" game is a major one of the spam ads.
When I start to read longer threads, I usually see no less than SIX or SEVEN ads on each page between posts!!!!
It would appear that it is not the settings on our computers, but a problem with the G503 server.
HELP! SOS! WTF!
