For those of us who don’t speak in binary bits could you please explain what that means? My limited understanding and best guess is that two “entities” are logging in to a certain thread (each) and as soon as they get connected, drop out, but are doing it so fast, and so often, that the server can’t keep up, causing the rest of us to wait in line to get a spot on the gee. Am I close? What is the motivation to do this? Thanx!

Yes they are sending requests just to keep the server busy and degrade the response time, sometimes to the point where the server does not respond anymore.
This is typical of a DDoS attack.
They do not care of the response to the request because the goal/motivation is to block a server with a huge traffic.
Usually they use proxies to hide them behind another IP, here from a Alibaba server.

When you try to block them by banning their IP, they switch to another proxy with a new IP.
Endless war…
As mentioned by Winget, perhaps these are illiterate Russian or North-Korean hackers who believe that the forum can be of some help to the Ukrainians.
These are people from the Dark side…
Here in Belgium, they did not hesitate to block hospital servers….

Thank you Yves. I think I understand. So, what keeps them from trying again from a different source? Vigilance?

Yes vigilance  .
If they are really focused on G503, they will restart their attack very soon.
The first who’s getting tired will be the looser.
A few years ago, a Korean guy was attacking my web server night and day during 3 years at a very slow pace, trying to find my server passwords…to no avail.
The script was stupid or bugged, because the password he was testing was always the same
I did not even care because of the very slow pace.

Anyway’ it’s again a pleasure to use the Forum.

Ken text me last night and said he's fixed it and it originated in China. Hopefully this fix will last for a long while!

Thank you Ken!

Thanks Bill. The G is working fine for me this morning. Had been difficult to use for the past week or so. Hope it holds. Surfacezero is working well too. I know many of us really appreciate these sites and those that keep it up and running for us!

What a pleasure to browse through the forum since the server was delivered from the attacks.
Thanks again to the G503 team.

Ditto the Thanks for the fix. Now if I can only convince my computer to skip login every time...but that's a local block I think.

Yes it’s a local problem, because it does not happen with my computer or tablet.

However it would be good also to fix the issue preventing to erase a post using the « X » when it has just been published, for example twice by error.
It used to work in a recent past.
Th « X » appears in the last post but don’t work anymore. It says «  You are not allowed to delete this post ».
