Oil filter relocation

Post by gpsigler@mwii.net » Mon Dec 15, 2008 9:43 am

Hi All,

I am planning to do a oil filter relocation using a modern spin-on filter on my 41 Plymouth. OK, so it's not authentic but neither is the 12 volt conversion, electronic ignition, altenator, or progressive 2-barrel carb!

Has anyone out there done one of these conversions and has a picture or descriptions? I'm a bit in the dark about the correct plumbing as the original filter was not on the car when I bought it. I have service manuals but they are not very clear on this issue.

Thanks,

The electronic ignition and dual barrel carb came from Stovebolt Engine Co. Tom Langdon has those and other parts. He specializes in older Chevy and Mopar 6 cylinders. He is very helpful and friendly. URL:

For what it's worth, I got my 12 volt alternator and associated electrical stuff from Randy Rundle...a real expert in these change-overs. His web site is:

Also, I have found...if I can get it bought...a remote, modern spin on oil filter base that uses tubing like our Plymouths....who would guess?
