GPW 44 Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

Post by CapMB » Mon Apr 16, 2018 5:50 pm

For 40 years of the same owner, after leaving the Brazilian Army, this rare GPW is very integral, with many original accessories and soon will be restored, I intend to make a U.S Navy. I accept suggestions.Image

Dear CapMB,

GREAT Find!! Great Jeep!!! Congratulation!! :D :D :D

In my opinion you should leave "as is" this beauty or, at least restore it in olive drab.....

If the jeep in origin was not "US Navy" in my opinion it's better, at least, to restore it with its original color scheme.

Hoping this may help you.

Kindest Regards

Luigi

Nice find, replace the tailights, rims, some thing on your top bow center, the passenger fender light, blackout drive light, turn signals up front... mirror and redo the dash stuff and you have a real survivor there (or older restoration) Paint/Mark it the way you want, you already have your MB in Army paint right? It's not like your going to be thrashing it through the rocks and jungle (hopefully)
Are the lug nuts tight?, seems the threads are not fully in the lug nuts on your closeup, someone may have swapped wheels for thicker wheels, nuts for taller nuts but the studs look to be original marked for proper side.
