I kinda like jedburgh's approach to the restoration....
1) Remove a part
2) Restore that part
3) Remove another part
4) Restore that part

(Repeat)

Most guys seem to tear everything apart, put every thing in plastic bags with the hardware and tags identifying it and then start the restoration process....

This approach acknowledges that the restoration will be a LONG process and does make keeping everything in an orderly fashion and together pretty easy.

Bon Chance!

I already have the experience of the restoration of my first Jeep.
And I decided for that this to make otherwise.
Defuse parts, by parts, and redo them as one goes along.
It is less the shambles in the garage!
For screws, I would look occasionally.

Great pictures Jedburgh! Thanks for making the bolt markings clear for me. I'll add them to the spreadsheet.

Cheers,

Hello;

I ended to wash my master cylinder.
Unfortunately I had to it to break the cork of filling to defuse it.
He is going to need that I find one.

Hello Jedburgh,
Your safety door straps are not US, they are typically french.
Willys MB 399579 - December 44
Register number (I've found it ! ) 20661416 S
Nickname "Peggy" (I've found it too !!!)
If you know a woman called Peggy, around 80 years old...

Hi every body !

I do not too much have time to post here ( long translation), but the jeep moves forward not bad.
Master cylinder is reconditionned, the tube of head cylinder also redoes, and the tank is in the process of being rebuilt.

Hi Jedburgh,

That's a fabulous MB you found and a superb restoration sir - well done!!!

I'm English, but I lived in Toulouse (EADS - Satellite Industry) and would spend many, many hours driving through the beautiful French countryside looking for Jeeps on my days off - I never found one...I found many 1920's & 30's cars, but never a Jeep, so I'm very jealous of you for finding such a beauty! :D

Keep up the good work - your MB deserves it!

PS - Which area/region of France are you from???
