Hey Chris
Think we'll have to change your last name to Holmes :) Great detective work mate.

Weeeeeellllll.... after 3 and a half years I am back! Now the question is are any of you guys still here?
It has been a very busy time... it seems like life happens from time to time and all we can do is roll with it. Looking back over my last posts I see where I had said all I needed was 3 or 4 more jobs to pay for some of this. I'm thinking I shouldn't have said that. 2 jobs plus back to college while finishing putting my 2 daughters through college has about sapped me dry. Who was the singer that sang "I will survive!"? I almost have! Things are finally slowing down somewhat. And in moving stuff off of my rental property I am now faced with having to move my poor neglected MB project. It is a 2 edged sword... its stoked the desire to get something done on it... while at the same time I am without a place to put it to work on it. I'm going to have to get creative real fast!

And a quick question for Christ (yorkshireman)... how in the world did you find out that the yard in the last pics I posted was in Chickamauga?!? You are correct... they were! And for the record, I was not trying to keep that place as my secret honey hole! After that post I never got back on the G again until just the other night! But I do hope that after Chris found the location that some of you were able to find something you needed there! The owner seemed like a really nice gentleman!

Alright... I'm done for the night. You guys have a great Memorial Day weekend. Remember those who gave all and thank those who have served!

God bless

Hi Dutch,

Holy moly I thought you were beamed up by aliens! By the way, I think it was Gloria Gaynor or something like that.

Glad to see you are back and all is well. I'm still here on and off. And, I still have OD fever. Thinking it would wain, but no it is still running through my veins.

Has it been 3 and 1/2 years? Wow! Time does march on. Welcome back...and don't be a stranger.

Kind regards,
Zeph

I'm selling the house and shop where I began this project all those years ago. So now everything has to be moved. Fun fun.

Removed the transmission... I think it is the T90... I have long forgot the differences between a lot of this stuff. I'll have to refresh my memory as I go! Everything inside the bell housing looked fine to my untrained eyes. No obvious breaks or missing teeth. The flywheel teeth didn't look too wore. The clutch looked like it was in pretty good shape as well. I didn't get a picture of it, but I removed the clutch and attempted to remove the flywheel but I couldn't figure out how to get it off. I think there are a few bolts sandwiched between the block and the flywheel... my wrenches weren't long enough to get to them so I just bolted the clutch back on for now and left it.

Next I removed the oil pan... wanted to see if any water had gotten inside after sitting for so many years. Was very pleasantly surprised! No water and very little sludge build up in the bottom of the pan. No metal either!
