Re: Very nice unrestored MB 1943 : For SALE
George, glad to see you are preserving it with as little restoration as possible . I happen to own a 43 MB that is only 82 newer than your serial number. Mine is 204147 . Mine however, was not in as good condition body wise and I used a repo tub on it. I did manage to save the original grille and hood however. My hood had been sandblasted bare by one of the previous owners so I had no record of the hood number. Since mine is 82 newer than yours I added 82 to your original hood number and used 20299649 on mine. Now I know that there is not a actual chance of this being accurate due to how they were stenciled in the lot at Willys but I think it should be plus or minus about 50 of the original number. Will post a picture of mine here. Just stenciled it May 31st.

I'm sure it's the original tub. The reason I ask is because I have a tub that is 170525 and I'm wondering how close it is to yours. Thanks!

Your tub should be original. The number on my original rusted out tub was 107203. My serial as I stated above was MB 204147.
