Thanks Ralph!
THe circuit breakers are bought at Ron, as they are no common in Europe I discovered.

Another question.
I'm looking to mount a trailer socket on my Willys.
Anyway, I don't want to put it on the later factory location, as I like to keep the rear side "early", and want to mount an MP50 or MP22 (when I can find it) later on also.
Is there evidence on other socket locations, or does someone has a nice location for it?
Myself, I was thinking to put it behind/in one of the rear bumperettes.

Thanks for letting me have your thoughts.

Regards
Frank

Frank,

Nice work on your Jeep, it is looking good. Here is what I did with my trailer socket on my April 42 MB, like you I wanted to keep it early if needed, I mounted it on a plate which is held onto the rear cross member by 2 bolts, it is very easily removed if needed.

Hope this gives you an idea for your Jeep.

Hello,

Who can help me to determine the estimated hood number for this Willys?
Unfortunately the hood was already cleared of any markings, and the rear panel of the body had a cut out for a tail gate.

I checked the online calculator which comes up with: U.S.A. 2074376

I also checked the date in the serial number list on G503, but it seems al the Willys MB's in the MB130*** range had a hood number in the 208**** range.
Is there someone who can narrow my estimated hood number more down?

Also how should it be on the hood?
Should it have the 'S' attached to the number in blue drab or not, or should this be in blue drab on the cowl?

THanks
Frank

Robert de Ruijter estimated a number for me.
Applied first the numbers on the rear panel today.

Numbers are done with RAL5014 matt

Started with the half door socket also

And the engine is also back into the frame.
During first test run the fuel pump broke, so that needs replacement also.

Some work during the christmas days and the NYE weekend.

Hinges for the filterette

Finally we managed to rivet the original drains on the fuel tank sump.
That also allowed final painting, installation of the fuel tank, connection of the fuel line and installation of he drivers seat.
All is now ready for installation on the chassis.

Finally mounted the body on the chassis.
Everything fitted very nicely and only 2 bolts to go.
Started with fitting all connections.

Only discovered 1 new problem, when I turn the key, the amp meter is going to +50 amps and than the circuit breaker pops.
Strange as when I only had the body and put 6V on it with a battery charger, everything was fine. But this is for next time.

Have the front side on again.
Still some fight with the driver side, but will manage that later on.

Small upgrade of the engine bay.
At least more correct spark plug connectors.

So I have the engine running on fuel from the tank.
All looks pretty good except...

The engine needs to run on choke otherwise it will die.
I did some research and most probably this is an issue with a warn throttle shaft.
I do have a second carb, but that one also has a warn shaft.

Where can I get an (or 2) oversized throttle shaft(s)?

Thanks

Hoi Frank,

Jemax heeft ze. Staan op de site bij carburateur.
In overmaat. Vraag blijft natuurlijk alleen hoeveel speling je hebt. Anders moeten er vaak busjes in geplaatst worden.
